So, yet another “Emergency Broadcast” from Ray and Ed yesterday with the usual “gang”; it was incredible. The gig itself was hilarious, and their absolute crushing of a heckler was incredible. 

“Right, who? Come here. Why are you walking like that? Stand here. Now say sorry to the audience. Now come here. Say sorry to Gordon. Now give Gordon a little kiss. Right. Go and sit back down. Who walks like that? Ooh, look, I am going to walk like him now *proceeds to do an exaggerated swagger with Ed*. THE IMPORTANT THING IN HECKLING IS TO KNOW WHEN YOU’RE BEATEN *twat tries to witheringly cry “When’s the main act coming on? to which Ray and Ed in unison yell…* SHUT UP!”

After the show, we waited behind to meet them, once again, and Ed saw me laying on a cushion seat and called out to me “Matt, were you having a sleep?!” We had a nice chat and Ray presented us with a coffee stirrer each as a “present”. We then all went up to the bar where Ed bought us all drinks. As we were leaving we got the customary picture (watch this space) and Ed said he thought I was trying to prove I was actually Chinese with all the pictures I now have with them. After a question about Raji (used to be on the podcast with them) we were let in on some secrets, had a right old laugh and then hugged goodbye, Ray telling me that I always go for a one-arm-up-one-arm-down hug, and it’s a shame because he always wants to go underneath and pick me up, which he then went on to do.

It was a fantastic night, and once again, I was blessed with the realisation that, no matter whether in a shitty mood or a fantastic one, Ray and Ed make it all just that little bit better :)
